Joy and her boys. This photograph was taken at a Women's drop in centre. It took a long time for the people there to trust us enough to let us in the door, to talk to them, and then take their pictures. Once that trust was gained then the response was strong and moving. We heard many stories about the hardships these women endured and their ability to rebound and try to make something for their families.
